Thanks to our long relationships with local farmers, we can guarantee the selection of only premium feathers and down to ensure the highest quality at every grade level. Quality control begins here, as we call on our years of experience, to grade the raw materials by origin, purity, type and value.
Upon arrival at our factories, our feather and down is pre-washed to remove heavy residue and for optimal separation of the feathers from down. Once sorted, the materials are de-dusted using a high-powered screen vacuum chamber. The raw materials are moved into the washing cycles which use fragrance free and dye-free detergents. At least fifteen, separate intense hot and cold water washing cycles are needed to eliminate impurities. The water used is thoroughly filtered before returning to the environment. Microscopic impurities are removed with an environmentally safe process called ozonation. The feather and down is thoroughly dried before a final de-dusting occurs to eliminate any possible remaining residue.
Laboratory testing occurs throughout the entire process - from the time down and feathers are harvested to the point it becomes part of a finished good. We exceed the Japanese standard, European standard, Canadian and U.S. standard for quality and hypoallergenic cleanliness.
