Quality Control Process
Quality control and testing occurs throughout the entire manufacturing process. Down and feather testing for quality:
We test from the time down and feathers are harvested to the point it becomes part of a finished good. All fills, fabrics, and construction must meet United Feather & Down’s strict standards for quality. Our technicians are certified. We test according to the International Down and Feather Bureau (IDFB) standards, the industry’s global testing standard, and the officially recognized testing standard in the U.S.A. United Feather & Down is an active member and serves on the board for the American Down and Feather Council (ADFC) and the International Down and Feather Bureau (IDFB), associations focused on improving product quality. One of the ADFC’s main objectives is to make sure that all natural fill bedding products sold in the U.S. are labeled correctly and that the quality of the products meets or exceeds the claims made on the label. Our Freshness Assured down exceeds all industry standards.
Fabrics tested for top-quality:
Our ability to create value for our customers depends on our ability to deliver top quality constructed fabrics. United Feather & Down conducts tests to verify thread count, content, down-proofness and washability.
Construction tested for presentation and durability:
United Feather & Down is committed to higher standards for quality and you can see it in our finished product constructions. We check and test for finished size accuracy, sewing quality, and overall construction. No-shift construction, an inherent feature in our blankets, inserts and comforters, makes sure that fills remain distributed evenly.
Washability and care instructions tested and approved for long life:
We target squarely on developing bedding products that withstand the unique and rigorous requirement of commercial washing. All of our products are machine washable and suitable for the hospitality laundry environment. Drying product to bring back its original fluffy appearance only requires that dryers are not overloaded. We sew product-specific care instructions on every piece of bedding.
